OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – The GAP Grind, one of the most highly regarded events in competitive shooting, deserves an optics partner to match. In 2014 the GAP Grind, which takes place at the K&M Shooting Complex, was the largest precision rifle event of its kind. Later this month, the event returns to open the Precision Rifle Series with a Pro/Am format that features professional and amateur competitors aiming for individual and team honors. They will complete more than 200 shots across a variety of steel, paper, moving and reactive targets out to 1,200 yards.
“The Pro/Am format allows all different experience levels of enthusiasts to compete alongside each other and really encourages newcomers to competition,” said Lea Ramthun, Optics Brand Manager at Bushnell. “It offers great mentoring opportunities and helps build the comradery we love about this sport. The top five finishers in each division (professional, team and amateur) will take home hardware and bragging rights. The amateur and team events will play out across two days of competition, with scoring in the professional division — with points accruing toward the series-long PRS standings — recording on the second day of competition.
