ANOKA, Minn. — Bob Steelhammer, Chief Digital Officer of Vista Outdoor Inc. (NYSE: VSTO), has been named to the Forbes “CIO Next” list, which highlights 50 technology leaders from various business sectors who “all have in common is a passion for using technology to help shape the future of business.”
Steelhammer, who joined Vista Outdoor in October 2018 and leads the company’s Digital Center of Excellence, is responsible for developing and executing viable long- and short-term strategies for digital marketing, e-commerce and IT capabilities across the company. Forbes recognized Steelhammer for creating “an ecosystem of tech tools and services that Vista’s brands can tap to turbocharge online sales. This helped the company boost revenue to $2.2 billion in its 2021 fiscal year, a 27% year-over-year increase.”

The list was based on qualitative research by Forbes editors and submissions from executives who responded to calls for nominations and was informed by insights from consultants, academics, recruiters and other experts who follow the community closely.
It’s the second prestigious digital leadership honor in recent weeks for Steelhammer, who was recently named one of CIO Review’s Top 10 Chief Digital Officers for 2022.
