Federal Saves the Day for Wounded Warriors Event

As the West End Gun Club Wounded Warriors Shoot event neared this past June, organizers were concerned they would not be able to locate shotshells in time for the event. Steve Gunderson, Quality Coordinator for Federal Ammo, grew up shooting in trap leagues at West End. Steve’s stepfather, also a member of the West End Gun Club, asked Steve if there was any way the gun club could purchase shells directly from Federal so that event could go on as planned. Steve spoke to Erik Carlson, Senior Director, Operations for Federal, to see if he could use some of the Quality Assurance (QA) retains from Federal’s donated Olympic loads. Erik agreed to have Federal donate six flats of Olympic shells for the event, along with free hats and banners.

“I have good memories of shooting at the West End Gun Club and it was an awesome feeling to be able to call the president of West End and tell him the good news,” remarked Steve, a disabled Army Veteran. “The Wounded Warriors event went as planned for our Veteran brothers, sisters and their families. I brought my 9-year old son and 13-year old daughter to the event. Everyone had a great time.”
