Consider riding a motorcycle on roads with no guardrails to protect you from cliffs with abrupt drop-offs. These roads are 80 percent pure dirt and the rest a mix of rock and mud. Lots and lots of mud.

Nine seasoned riders assembled in New Delhi, India, for the ride of a lifetime – covering 485 miles in five days on one of the most challenging roads in the world. Vista Outdoor brand Bell Helmets and Café Racer XXX supported the American Himalayan charity ride to raise money and awareness.

“I really appreciate the array of causes that the American Himalayan Foundation supports, but the one that hit me the most was ‘Girl Trafficking.’ As a woman and a human, it is hard to imagine the life that many of these girls have to live. If I can help even a few of them out, it’s better than not trying at all,” said Sasha Valentine, owner of the popular blog Café Racer XXX Blog, and one of the participants in the historic ride.

A $100 donation covers one at-risk school girl’s fees, books, uniforms, tutoring and mentoring for an entire year. It helps to keep the girls informed and in school, which is the safest place for them to be. In Nepal, as many as 20,000 girls are trafficked into slave labor or forced into child marriage every day.

This pioneering approach of getting at-risk girls in Nepal into school has saved thousands of young lives. Today there are over 11,000 girls across Nepal choosing to go to school and searching for a life full of dignity and hope.
