Ammunition Engineer Becomes National Champion

Earlier this summer, Vista Outdoor employee Casey Reed competed in the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Production Nationals in Barry, Illinois where he took first place in the Master class and 10th overall out of 375 shooters.

Reed works as an Ammunition Product Development Engineer in our Anoka, Minnesota facility and has been with the company for four years. He designs, develops and helps bring to market new shotshell, rimfire and training products for our ammunition brands. In his free time, Reed competes at USPSA events.

“Casey is a prime example of how our employees live and use our products in their daily lives, and are passionate about our mission of Bringing the World Outside,” said Vista Outdoor CEO Mark DeYoung. “USPSA Nationals is one of the top pistol shooting competitions in the world, and I want to congratulate him on this impressive accomplishment.”

The USPSA is a practical and dynamic shooting sport. It requires competitors to efficiently shoot a firearm accurately at speed. USPSA has a national competition every year with various stages and challenges to determine the best shooters in the nation.
