Stone Glacier Backpack Wins ‘Innovation by Design’ Award from Fast Company

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Stone Glacier, a builder of ultralightweight, performance hunting gear designed for backcountry use and a Vista Outdoor Inc. (NYSE: VSTO) brand, this week announced that its Terminus 7000 backpack earned one of Fast Company’s Innovation by Design awards. The Terminus 7000, a new pack design from Stone Glacier, won an honorable mention in the “Best Product Design of 2022” category.

“We knew this was a long-shot opportunity given the mainstream nature of the publication,” said Jeff Sposito, President and CEO of Stone Glacier. “And, we are happy to have secured an honorable mention for the ‘Best Product Design of 2022’ category.”

In designing and building the Terminus 7000, Stone Glacier’s “goal was to create the lightest, strongest 7000 cubic inch alpine hunting backpack for the sheep and goat hunter,” according to the pack’s product description on the brand’s website. “The result is the new Terminus, weighing in at less than four pounds. By sewing the bag directly to the frame and incorporating an internal load cell, we built this alpine workhorse to get your gear into high country. Using proven SG frame geometry and load capability, we built this pack with plenty of room to get that gear—and meat—back out.”

Stone Glacier’s Terminus 7000 will be included in Fast Company’s next print edition. In addition, the brand, which has been in the Vista Outdoor portfolio since the end of 2021, was included in Fast Company’s digital coverage of the awards alongside mainstream consumer brands like DeWalt, Intuit, Harman International, Google, Ray-Ban and Meta.
